Habitat for Humanity is creating a 3D printed home for a family of 3 in Virginia

In Williamsburg, Virginia, Habitat for Humanity partnered with Alquist 3D to construct a 1,200-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home using 3D printing technology. The concrete exterior walls were printed in approximately 28 hours, significantly reducing construction time. The home is EarthCraft-certified, emphasizing energy efficiency and sustainability. Homeowner April Stringfield and her son moved in after she completed the required 300 hours of sweat equity through the Habitat Homebuyer Program. This project showcases the potential of 3D printing in addressing affordable housing needs.

nCAVED Vacation Residence – Serifos, Cyclades, Greece

nCAVED, designed by Athens-based MOLD Architects, is a 340-square-meter vacation residence ingeniously embedded into the rocky cliffs of Serifos Island. This architectural marvel offers protection from strong northerly winds while providing breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. The residence features a harmonious blend of concrete, stone, wood, and glass, creating a minimalist yet dramatic aesthetic. MU Architecture completes black lakefront home with two-storey boathouse

MU Architecture’s Slender House, nestled along Lake Memphremagog in southern Quebec, seamlessly integrates into its steep, wooded landscape. Clad in black timber and local granite, the 4,500-square-foot residence features expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that frame serene lake views. The design includes a minimalist interior with light wood finishes, a sauna, and a gym. Complementing the main house is a two-storey boathouse constructed with matching materials, offering a kitchenette and a rooftop terrace accessible via an external staircase, providing a harmonious blend of modern design and natural beauty.
